How does Mokumflex work?
Booking a Mokumflex taxi is very simple. Please keep reading to find out how it works.
1. Registering is not necessary
Pre-registration is unnecessary; even if you’ve never used Mokumflex before, you can travel immediately!
2. Book a ride
Book your Mokumflex taxi using the booking form on this page. Select the stop where you want to be collected from the drop-down menu. You’ll find all stops and routes on the map below.
You can order a flex taxi up to 45 minutes in advance and take up to 5 extra passengers with you. The person who makes the booking will also pay for all the passengers.
3. Pay the personal contribution
The personal contribution of € 2.75 per passenger can be paid in advance with iDeal, PayPal and credit card.
4. Travel
We’ll pick you up at the stop you’ve requested. We’ll never deviate from this location. However, we do employ a time frame of eleven minutes around your requested time. The flex taxi appears at most one minute before to ten minutes after the booked time. Make sure you are ready on time; If the driver has a follow-up schedule, he may not be able to wait for you longer than 10 minutes!
Twenty minutes before the pickup time, you’ll receive a text message with a link to see the taxi arriving on a live map. Five minutes before the driver arrives at the stop, he or she will call you.
Possibly, you’ll travel together with other flexers; Mokumflex is combined transport. By combining passengers on the same route, we limit the number of vehicle movements as much as possible. In this way, we help to keep the surroundings peaceful and the air clean.

Frequently asked questions
Is Mokumflex a taxi service?
Not exactly. While Mokumflex uses taxi vans, it functions more like a shared shuttle service and is part of Amsterdam’s public transport system. It’s not a private ride — other passengers may be picked up along the way.
Where does Mokumflex operate?
Mokumflex operates in specific areas of Amsterdam that are underserved by regular public transport, such as:
Landelijk Noord (Zunderdorp, Ransdorp, Holysloot)
Westpoort (industrial and business zones)
It provides connections to metro, tram, and bus lines.
How do I book a Mokumflex ride?
You can book a ride via:
The Mokumflex app
The Mokumflex website
Reservations can be made up to 30 minutes in advance, or several days ahead.
How much does Mokumflex cost?
The fare is the same as standard public transport in Amsterdam. You simply check in and out with your OV-chipkaart or contactless payment card. No extra fee for booking.
What’s the difference between Mokumflex and a private taxi like Staxi?
Mokumflex is shared, scheduled transport on fixed routes — it’s not available everywhere and does not offer private door-to-door service. If you need a private ride at a fixed fare, available citywide and 24/7, services like Staxi are a better fit.
